Ruby is a gemstone, specifically a variety of the mineral corundum. It is one of the most popular traditional jewelry gems and is highly durable. The word, “ruby” comes from the Latin word “ruber”, which means red. This artifact comes from Mozambique and is approx. 433 billion years old.
