“Bandits at Bay; A Cap Hank Story” was published in 1938 by the Saalfield Publishing Company, a competitor of the Whitman Publishing Company which published the Big Little Books. At one time, Saalfield was the largest publisher of children’s literature and referred to their books as “The Little Books.” This book was written by Charles T. Clinton and illustrated by Paton Edwards. It follows the adventures of Cap Hank Doolittle and his three friends and companions.
